KL Dance Steps is located in the Legion Dance Studio, in Bracknell Town Centre, which boasts the largest sprung dance floor in the area.

We run weekly Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced classes for all ages, which cover a range of Ballroom, Latin American and Social Dances.

Come along to one of our fun, friendly and relaxed group classes and try it for yourself!

We also have fully stocked licensed bar, and encourage our students to come along and try out their new moves at our regular social events.

All of our teachers are IDTA Qualified or training towards a qualification.

meet the team

Kevin Chittock, Fellow IDTA Ballroom & Latin American

I started dancing when I was eight years old at the Legion Dance Studio and soon became addicted to dance.  I went through all the Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin American Medals with the IDTA and also travelled the country taking part in Competition Dancing.  At the age of 15 I started teaching in return for training to become a qualified teacher and received top marks for all teacher qualifications.

In 2009, Laura and I took over ownership of the Legion Dance Studio and we became KL Dance Steps. Since taking over the studio I have trained 5 Teachers through their teaching qualifications and 6 Student Teachers all who have received top marks.

Every day I still learn from people I teach. I love to see people progress and most of all enjoy coming to our studio.  We try to provide an enjoyable and great way of learning to dance for every age group.  My personal favourite at the moment is Argentine Tango.

Laura Chittock, Associate IDTA Ballroom
I started dancing at the Legion Dance Studio at 15 years old for pleasure and quickly progressed into teaching training with Cyril and Diana Bone. I took my first exam at 17 and went on to fully qualify in Ballroom. I am currently training for Associate Latin with my husband, Kevin, which has its trials! I enjoy the children's classes and finding ways to keep the their attention. I especially enjoy organising the events for adults, including tea dances, dinner dances and casual social evenings. Wedding dances are also a favourite of mine as I enjoy helping couples to feel comfortable on the dance floor.

I'm also a hairdresser which has come in super handy with those ‘up’ do's needed for sparkly dance events! I love Latin dancing but I'm currently enjoying exploring the challenges of Ballroom dancing all over again after neglecting my dancing due to having a baby! Let's hope she follows in our footsteps - no pun intended!

Morag Scott, Associate IDTA Latin American

I have been dancing since I was 4. I started teaching at 18, and I am qualified to Associate Level in Latin American with Honours, thanks to Kev’s great teaching! I also have a HND in Dance and a Certificate in Education. I’m currently in the last year of my degree course in Professional Dance Development at Bucks New University.

I teach teenagers and adult classes, including Freestyle, Latin & Ballroom. I love choreographing new routines for the teens classes! My favourite Latin dances are Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Argentine Tango – I can’t pick just one!

Alexandra Stocker, Associate IDTA Freestyle

I am a Dance Teacher, Fitness Instructor, and Athletics Coach and the founder of AS Dance & Fitness. I started dancing at the age of four and have been teaching since 16. I graduated from the University of Surrey in 2011 with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture, and have since obtained qualifications as a Zumba Instructor, Just Jhoom! Bollywood Dance Fitness Instructor and a UKA Athletics Coach. I have also become an IDTA Associate in Freestyle Dance and am currently working towards becoming an Associate in Ballroom.

Deanna Miller, Associate IDTA Ballroom
I have been teaching both kids and adults at KL Dance Steps for 6 years and became fully qualified in July 2012 with an average of 92% for my IDTA Associate Ballroom. My favourite style of dance is Latin - all the fast wiggly dances like Salsa, Samba and Jive, but I love them all really! Kevin has taught me for my theory exams, and both he and Laura have helped me with my teacher training and experience, assisting them in classes at the s

Niamh Whitbread, Student Teacher
I have been dancing since I was 3, but joined KL Dance Steps when I was 8. Mostly trained by Kevin, I have completed all of my Freestyle medals, Ballroom to Presidents 2 and just recently my Student Ballroom Qualification, as well as Latin to Presidents 3 Level.

My teaching experience comes from assisting Laura with the adult classes and with Kevin for children's classes. My favourite dance is the Rumba or Cha Cha, but I also love street dance. I’ve been nominated for a Freestyle Scholarship with the IDTA.

As well as dancing at KL Dance Steps, I have Ballet to Grade 5, I’m part of a Street Dance team which came 1st place at National level, and also enjoy cheerleading.
